The iconic luxury brand Chanel is introducing a new “Boy” line of luxurious handbags with an interesting fashion-twist. The French luxury brand’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld announced that the new collection draws inspiration from an androgynous style which is modeled on a hunter’s cartridge which was worn by Chanel’s founder, Coco Chanel. It is well documented that the groundbreaking designer, Coco Chanel borrowed from the ‘boys’ on many occasions, creating timeless, classic pieces. Lagerfeld’s newest handbag collection is a fitting tribute to Coco Chanel’s legacy: “Chanel used men’s underwear to make dresses,” Lagerfeld explained. “She had this boyish attitude, in fact it is the very spirit of Chanel. She got it from Boy Capel, the great love of her life.”
The new ‘Boy’ collection of Chanel handbags will bear the brand’s logo — stamped into the bottom of the bag, and will be available in ultra-stylish hues of red, grey, and ivory glazed calfskin, ranging in price from $2500 to $4300.
