Ashton Kutcher’s Luxurious Two-Story Trailer

Ashton Kutcher has made headlines this weekend after it was revealed that his on-set trailer costs just shy of $9000 a week to maintain. Kutcher’s luxury trailer on the set of Two And A Half Men measures 16 metres long and weighs in at around 30 tonnes. The luxury home features “side sections and a second floor that hydraulically emerge from the main body to offer a total floor space of 1,100 square feet.”

It also includes a whopping seven 60-inch 3D plasma screens, two bathrooms, a kitchen with granite countertops and a conference areal. The furniture is apparently designed so that it will fold or collapse to accommodate the top and side extensions.

Security cameras are mounted on the outside of the trailer giving 360-degree surveillance. And when
someone rings the doorbell, the stereo system and TV volume drops, with the image of the visitor being projects on the screens inside.

Luxury brands expand in Australia

French luxury maison Hermes inaugurated last week an extension to its flagship store in Sydney. The 92 sqm additional space will see the store increased its menswear and homeware offerings. With the occasion of the inauguration, Hermes' Executive Vice President Ms Gonzalez-Cristobal said: "The Australian customer is incredibly sophisticated, like in Italy and Japan. Women know how to play with colour and neutrals and the men are very elegant. Over 70 per cent of our customers here are local."

In November this year, Louis Vuitton will open a sleek new flagship shop triple the size of the brand's outlet at the corner of Castlereagh and King Streets. The new boutique, at the corner of King and George Streets, will house three levels of menswear, womenswear, leather goods and accessories. It follows the opening of Burberry's new Sydney flagship store in April, which is more than double the size of its previous boutique. 

Chanel has opened a temporary store within Westfield Sydney, while its permanent Castlereagh Street store is closed for renovations. "Anonymous" vows to "kill" Facebook

The drama queens are at it again - and this time, the target of their collective ire is none other than...Facebook? 

"Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed," a speaker representing the hacktivist group Anonymous says in a YouTube video posted July 16 that rapidly gained wider exposure today.

Turns out that these boys are regular killjoys as their hit is timed to coincide with Guy Fawkes Day, which is celebrated in Britain to commemorate the Gunpowder Plot in which Fawkes and his fellow co-conspirators attempted unsuccessfully to blow the British House of Lords to smithereens in 1605.

But Anonymous is on a mission. In recent months, the loosely-organized group has gone after websites operated by the likes of PayPal, Master Card, Visa and the Church of Scientology.

W Hotels brings superstar DJs around the world

W Hotels has announced yet another addition to its musical offering, in the form of a global tour of DJs, in association with energy drink Burn. The hotel is sending six DJ competition winners on a week-long crash course dubbed the DJ Lab, which begins at the W Barcelona and concludes at the burn studios Hacienda in Ibiza, the Spanish island renowned for its clubbing. After the DJ lab, the up-and-coming DJs will crisscross the globe, calling in at W hotels to perform at exclusive events and other occasions from later this month.

Box at London’s Albert Hall on sale for $900,000

A five-seat box at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall in London is up for sale for a princely £550,000 ($900,000), the estate agents said Tuesday.

Harrods Estates described the box, which it is claimed contains the best seats in the concert hall, as the “ultimate gift” for a loved one.

Although the same money would buy a two-bedroomed flat in the exclusive Chelsea district not far away, the 865-year lease should give the owner and their descendants enough time to make it worthwhile.

The box is the only one left in the hall still featuring its original timber veneer and mirrored panels, while its location on the second tier on the eastern side of the auditorium offers spectacular views of the main stage.

Shirley Humphrey, sales and marketing director at Harrods Estate, said: “The boxes at the Royal Albert Hall are extremely rare and those with original features are even rarer, so we anticipate to receive a high level of interest. “This five-seat box is perfect for entertaining, whether it is business or pleasure.”

Believe it or not, the list of the top ten highest-earning ladies of Hollywood features five women under the age of 30! Forbes has made this list and we share it with you to show the world just how right Shakespeare was when he wrote “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon”.

First on the list is famous Oprah Winfrey with an annual income of about $315 million, followed by Beyonce with $87 million and Britney Spears with $64 million. A quite surprising thing for us was to see that Madonna only ranked fifth (with $58 million) regardless of her undying fame.

Facebook Director of Marketing Randi Zuckerberg, the sister of founder Mark Zuckerberg, has decided to leave Facebook to start her own company.

Zuckerberg’s new company, RtoZ Media, will focus on helping companies become more social. “My goal is to launch my own innovative programming and work with media companies to develop their programming in new, and more social ways,” Zuckerberg said in her resignation letter.

The former Facebook marketing director will draw from her experiences developing the company’s marketing strategy and its popular live video channel, Facebook Live. She was recently nominated for an Emmy for her work with Facebook Live.

Jumeirah opens first European property in Frankfurt

Dubai-based luxury hotel chain Jumeirah has opened its first property in mainland Europe.

The brand, which operates several high-profile properties in the Middle East including the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the ‘seven star’ Burj Al Arab,

Jumeirah welcomed its first guests to its new Frankfurt property August 1, ahead of the official opening in September.

The hotel is spread across 25 floors in a striking new building and contains a total of 218 rooms in the center of the busy German city, which already boasts several luxury names such as Rocco Forte, Westin Grand and InterContinental.

However, with all rooms measuring 35 square meters and above, Jumeirah says its hotel offers the largest rooms in Frankfurt.

On the ground floor guests can visit a specialist chocolaterie and patisserie, as well as a lobby bar, with a fireplace and views over the Thurn-und-Taxis Palais.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Max on One, is managed by Executive Chef Martin Steiner and serves “innovative interpretations” of regional and German dishes.

Unsurprisingly, the new building boasts a host of green technology, including an air conditioning system which regulates the temperature using heat detectors and motion sensors to minimize wasted usage.

Talise, the hotel’s signature spa, features two saunas, freestanding bathtubs and tropical rain showers, although more active guests can use the neighboring Premium Fitness First health club.

Although Frankfurt is currently the only Jumeirah property on the European continent, it will be joined by a luxury property at Port Soller, Mallorca, in Spring 2012.
